Testing The testing process involved a professional snake handler, Sean McCarthy, attempting to penetrate the gaiter material/fabric. The sample material was wrapped around an inflated balloon and pricked with 25-gauge needles (this best represents a snakes fang) this test resulted in 0% penetration. After a successful needle test, the fabric was then tested on multiple Australian snake species for both bite force and striking ability. All tests resulted in 0% penetration. Additional information If a snake does come into contact with the gaiters it is recommended that you avoid skin contact with venom and the area. Dispose of the gaiter and do not reuse them.
