Follow the instructions below to remove the silicone coating from the inside of the lens, which is left over from the manufacturing process. This is standard practice for dive masks.

1. Put a pea-sized dab of toothpaste on your index finger. Use a simple, non-abrasive toothpaste and avoid whitening toothpastes, which contain bleaching agents.
2. Rub the toothpaste on the inside of the lens so it’s lightly coated and leave overnight.
3. Wipe off the toothpaste thoroughly with a soft cloth or wash it with water.

Divers commonly use toothpaste as a defogging agent and you can repeat this process before every dive. As a bonus, it leaves your mask smelling minty fresh.
