Unleash the Roar

The roar, or rut, is the breeding season for deer in New Zealand. It's the time of year when stags are most active and vocal, roaring to attract the attention of hinds. Stags are also less cautious during this time as they tend to have one thing on their mind. The Roar presents a unique opportunity for hunters as stags are much easier to find in the wild. The Roar runs from late March through April. It's one of the most exciting, busy and favourable times of the year for deer hunters, which is why it's so important to be prepared with the right information, attitude, and gear to ensure safety and success during the Roar season.
